Not Very Becoming

Last Sunday I finally got to watch Becoming Jane. I had been wanting to watch it forever, but I missed it when it was at the theaters, and then had given up movies for Lent.

Well, I was disappointed. It was ok, I guess, but nowhere near outstanding like my beloved A&E version of Pride and Prejudice. Unfortunately, due to a couple inappropriate scenes, I wouldn't even recommend this movie. But then, as hubby said, "What did you expect from Miramax?!"

I came across this review that pretty much sums up how I felt about the film. Have you seen it? What were your thoughts?

  1. I know! It was sad. I like happy Austen movies. I did like it and I thought Anne Hathaway did a good job. I just wanted it to end differently. Sadly, that is probably how here life ended.

  3. I was worried too. I know a lot of Austen fans were not happy with it. But I thought to give it a try anyway.
    Sigh.
I was still hoping.... :) I am starting to think ballroom dancing, no matter how horrible I am at it, is better than movies!
