Best wishes for a...

...Blessed and
Happy New Year!

Look not mournfully into the past. It comes not back again. Wisely improve the present. It is thine. Go forth to meet the shadowy future, without fear, and with a manly heart.
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Prayer for a Blessing on the New Year

O sacred and adorable Trinity, hear our prayers on behalf of our holy Father the Pope, our Bishops, our clergy, and for all that are in authority over us. Bless, we beseech Thee, during the coming year, the whole Catholic Church; convert heretics and unbelievers; soften the hearts of sinners so that they may return to Thy friendship; give prosperity to our country and peace among the nations of the world; pour down Thy blessings upon our friends, relatives, and acquaintances, and upon our enemies, if we have any; assist the poor and the sick; have pity on the souls of those whom this year has taken from us; and do Thou be merciful to those who during the coming year will be summoned before Thy judgment seat. May all our actions be preceded by Thy inspirations and carried on by Thy assistance, so that all our prayers and works, having been begun in Thee, may likewise be ended through Thee. Amen.

May God bless you all in 2009 and may your hearts and homes be filled with love, joy and peace.

  1. Jessica, I hope you and your family have a blessed New Year. I have been following your blog for about a year. I started when I was looking for ideas for Our Lady of Lourdes Feast Day. You have such wonderful ideas for celebrating the Liturgical year at home. Whenever I am looking at your blog my four and a half year old daughter will ask if Twinkle Toes is her "best friend". You have truly become "part of our family". My God bless you and your family throughout the entire year of 2009.

  7. Happy New Year to you all!! I've so enjoyed getting to know you all this past year!

Roxaline ~ Thank you for your sweet comment! I am always curious to know who out there is reading along. That is too cute what your daughter said about Twinkle Toes!!! :) As for the ideas, I can't take the credit. Most I have either seen in books (or blogs) and just share how we incorporate them into our own home. I have really realized since blogging that there really is "nothing new under the sun!"

Lori ~ You all are such a blessing to ME! Some days it the kind emails from some of you that get me through the tough times... I have them just like anyone else! Thanks!!

    God Bless you all!
