For the Advent Mantel

This was such an easy craft and I just love how it looks on our mantel!  I think, while I still have a bit of purple spray paint leftover, I am going to use Elizabeth's idea and pick up the letters N & T to change "PREPARE" to "REPENT" for Lent!!

  4. Beautiful! You're so inspiring! You may have already mentioned, but where did you get the lights?

  5. Thank you everyone!

Aren't the lights great! I just love that they are exactly the right length for our mantle and I always hate taking them down after the Christmas season... I usually put it off well into February! ;) I've actually had them for a few years... I purchased them at a St. Vincent de Paul Auction, though I believe they were originally from Costco. Wish I could be more help than that...

  6. I loved this idea! I was short on time so just cut out large cardboard letters and had the kids finger paint. They turned out beautifully! It is quite an Advent statement. I love your site and all the great ideas. It really helps me to do all the things I have always wanted to do, but didn't have the ideas. Thank you for all the work you put into sharing with us. I'll be praying for you and your baby. What a blessed time of year to have a little one! -Angie

  7. Where did you find the wooden (?) letters that stand on their own? I am having the hardest time.

  8. I purchased these wooden letters at Michaels. I hope you are able to find some!

  9. I was inspired by the letters on your mantle and this Advent I want to spell Come Lord Jesus. At Christmas, I will add the letters 'Wel' to spell Welcome Lord Jesus. Thanks for the inspiration!
