For our boys, I've left that decision up to my husband. Our boys are currently 8 & 9, and it has just been in this past year that my husband has started teaching them to shoot a bb gun, with complete supervision.
I liked your comment about not wanting to get in the middle of that argument. My husband started our boys a little earlier, but we do have a family cattle ranch. It's a part of the culture out there. Your boys look so cute with their weapons.

What ages do you suggest boys start learning how to use a rifle? My husband and I debate on the age.
