Bargain Priced Books Illustrated by Gennady Spirin

I've always admired the beautiful illustrations by Gennady Spirin in our copy of We Three Kings.  When I ran across a couple more of his books on sale for 71-72% off I ordered them to stash away for next Christmas.   Here are the links in case anyone else is interested:

The Twelve Days of Christmas (Hardcover) by Gennady Spirin is just $4.91.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears (Hardcover) by Gennady Spirin is just $5.00.

Also, for those who still haven't ordered a copy of Angels and Saints at Ephesus, the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Angels are running a Pentecost Special right now on their website!  If you buy 1 or more copies of Angels and Saints at Ephesus they will send an additional copy for free!  Here is the link.  This sale is effective until midnight (CDT) on Sunday, May 19, 2013.

I pray you all have a blessed Pentecost Sunday!

  1. What beautiful books! I think tomorrow I will have to get on the computer and order them. I ordered a few of the Demi books you posted about last time and my boys like them a lot.

  2. Jessica - Thanks for posting about the book bargains you find. I ordered Joan of Arc (Demi) when you posted about it a while ago! We're looking forward to reading it for the first time for her feast coming up! I was wondering how you get your notifications of Amazon bargains, or do you just stumble across them while browsing? Thanks again! Happy Pentecost! -Theresa

    1. You are welcome! And, yes, these are just deals that I happen to stumble across while browsing. Since we give each of our children a new book each year on the feast of St. Nicholas, I am aways watching for quality discounted Christmas themed books, as well as new releases and old books that are being republished. I just pre-ordered a copy of Bambinelli Sunday for this year, which was when I ran across these books. :)

    2. My boys loved the Saint Joan of Arc book :)

Oh, the Bambinelli Sunday book looks great too! I'll need to go pre-order that myself.

Jessica, do you Christmas shop all year round for your kids or just for books?

    3. Sometimes, but not always. I prefer to have all my Christmas shopping completed by the first Sunday of Advent, but I'm usually not able to pull it off. I do watch for sales on things that I plan to purchase for my children and have a shelf in my closet for future gifts - whether they are for birthdays, Christmas, Easter, or to give away to friends.

    5. I think it looks really sweet. I am excited to share it with my boys. It's marked on my calendar, so I dont forget about it since we will most likely be moving this fall. I also went and ordered several more of the 12 days of Christmas book for Christmas gifts to godchildren and nieces and nephews.
